Staffordshire County Council and Keele University have proposed to create a pedestrian crossing for the intersection of Keele Road, Three Mile Lane, Keele University's access road, and Quarry Bank Road in Keele Village.

We need to accept this proposal now to make this dangerous intersection safer for the community!

Let's not wait 'til it's too late!!

A controlled (zebra) crossing will allow safer pedestrian access for:

- local school children walking or cycling to their catchment school

- Keele Village residents, visitors and business customers walking to the amenities and services on Keele Campus (Post Office, shops, woodland trails etc.)

- Keele Campus residents and visitors walking to the amenities and businesses in Keele Village (St. John's Church, Village Hall, Sneyd Arms, Old Schoolhouse, Parish Council)

- Keele University students living in the Hawthorns Halls walking to campus

In term time, well over 300 pedestrians can cross this intersection on a weekday morning.

A marked crossing where pedestrians have the right of way will make everyone safer! And a safer route will encourage more people to walk while more pedestrians and a marked crossing will help to reduce traffic congestion and traffic speed in the Village.
