After recent tragic events and news paper articles the original group on facebook was closed but the matter still stands. We as local residents and just plainly appalled nottinghamshire people would like to close down the St Andrews Healthcare Centre at Mansfield. One incident has already occurred and has left a family devastated.
This place is a danger to our community and the only way we can ensure that this does not happen again is if it is closed down.
St Andrew's are treating 'adapted sex offenders' and letting them out into our community on a regular basis unescorted. The local residents were not aware of the type of people that were being housed in this centre although not ALL residents are sex offenders St Andrews is advertising this service therefore must be providing it.
Also these sex offenders are hiding behind mental illness and learning disabilities which I believe is wrong and creating more stigma for people with these conditions. They should be named and labelled as what they are!! and not covered by this larger blanket diagnosis.

This petition is not asking anyone to take the law into their own hands.

This is ridiculous - this is a healthcare centre, as its name makes clear. It isnt a building full of 'peadophiles' "hiding" behind learning difficulties and its very naive of anyone to assume this. Each and every resident has to be fully analysed and risk assessed before being able to leave the centre with out without an escort. 

What happened recently was awful, I don't condone anything of this nature, but to try to close down a building just because he happened have been residing is ridiculous. You cannot tar everyone with the same brush. I advise the creator of this group and those who have signed the petition to research a little into learning difficulties, special needs and mental illness - which is what the people who live at St Andrews have to live with. St Andrews is a non profitable charity funded organisation which offers the care these individuals need. Those of you trying to ruin something which is helping others are narrow minded and in my opinion wrong.

what makes me laugh, Bellamy is in the top 1% of deprived communities in the country, millions of government money has been spent there trying to raise aspirations and improving the quality of life in the local community, what a contradiction putting a peadophile unit right at the side of it
So much for the new MARR route development improving the area...
