Keep Marie Louise Gardens beautiful & save them from the proposed building blot

Plans have been submitted to build a large contemporary detached house in the grounds of the lodge of Marie Louise Gardens, West Didsbury.  In addition there are plans to build a triple Garage and Mews development.
We the undersigned object strongly to this proposal.  The contemporary design of the buildings is totally inappropriate for the historic setting.  Marie Louise Gardens and their lodge are a fine example of Edwardian Arts and Crafts design.
The park itself is treasured by local people as an oasis of peace in an intensly populated part of the city.  The proposed buildings would overlook the park creating an intrusion into a valued public space. 
We believe the development would be to the overall detriment of the quality of the park and its enjoyment by the people of Manchester to whom it was donated in 1903.
