Overturn the decision to ban buskers from Gloucester Cross

Gloucester City Council have bowed to pressure from the Civic Trust to ban buskers from Gloucester Cross, on the grounds of noise. The ban comes into force in the autumn, however we feel that this should be overturned.

Buskers are the very fabric of the modern city streets and inject culture, entertainment and a vibrancy that is all too often missing. There are all sorts of people who want to perform all kinds of music - sure some of them aren't great, but they're doing what they love and amongst them all there are many shining diamonds that make the stroll through the streets a pleasure.

Gloucester needs to shine and reawaken it's potential. Killing off some of the "feel good" factor is not the way forward and we urge the City Council to reverse it's decision.
