Petition to reinstate Judith Palmer as Director of the Poetry Society

As readers of poetry, poets, and members of the Poetry Society, we are distressed that the Poetry Society has experienced problems of governance so severe that the Arts Council has suspended its grant funding.

To help restore the Arts Council's confidence, and to avoid an otherwise inevitable suit for constructive dismissal by the former Director, we call on the Trustees to restore Judith Palmer immediately, (that is, before August 19th, the date by which such a suit must otherwise be filed) to her post on the contract she held on April 1st 2011. We further call on the trustees and the Society to work with all parties concerned to identify and resolve the underlying problems which led to the breach, using all appropriate processes of the constitution and recognised good practice for mediation.

We ask this without apportioning blame and in the interests of a new start; and as the best hope for the Society which serves the art form we all love.

If you are among the 'unverified', please do the following:
1) Check that your verification email from PetitionOnline is not in your junk mail folder.
2) On this website, click the Login tab at the top of the page.
3) Enter the username and password with which you registered when you first signed in.
    If you didn't register, please do so, using the name and email address you used to sign the petition.

If none of this works, you may have to register again, using a different e-mail. Several people have done this and have found it to work.

I'm the one who set up the petition, and I've been trying to get the message to signatories that they need a) to enter a valid e-mail address when they sign, b) to respond to the confirmation e-mail, and c) to sign in through the PetitionOnline form below the Facebook icon if they don't have a Facebook account. There have also been some false signatures apparently, and we're trying to get those dealt with and deleted.

It is a concern as to how many of these names are coming up as 'unverified' when clearly, people think they have signed the petition.  I do hope if anyone knows the names concerned they can let them know that they haven't fully completed the process
