It is estimated that carers save the country/goverment £87 billion each year yet a decision to care can mean a commitment to future poverty.
The 2001 census indicated there are 175,000 young carers under 18.
The average age of a young carer is 12.

We the undersigned demand better funding and a more comprehensive and coordinated approach to support the valuable work carers undertake in our community.
