As many people are aware the couple 'Arwen' is seeming to become a thing on the TV Series... but many fans do not wish for the series to take these turn of events, thinking Arthur and Gwen should not be together. BUT! Merlin and Arthur however... now there's a romance. Shortly after the first episode aired in September 2008, Fanficiton.Net exploded with Merlin decided that the slashy subtext was loud and clear. There were sparks between Merlin and Arthur right from the beginning and many fans saw their dynamic in the first series as the same type of romance that is often featured in classic love stories. Ever since the first episode Merlin and Arthur's relationship has been developing to great and heart-warming extremes for example, in the 3rd episode of series 4 'The Wicked Day', Merlin was waiting for Arthur all night saying that he 'didn't want him to feel alone'. Also, as soon as the 4th episode in series 1 'The Poisoned Chalice' they are willing to sacrifice their lives for each other and Arthur went against his father's wishes to protect and save a 'mere servant' implying Merlin means more to Arthur than he's letting on. In you wish for more insights let me know. Don't worry about being historically correct as the fans won't mind. Please sign if you believe 'Merthur' is better. It is also been proven that Merlin and Arthur are actually the most popular pairing in the fandom... so shouldn't viewings go up?
