WIGTOWN BAY OFFSHORE WINDFARM - DRAFT PROPOSAL

Goal : 855 / 1000

This petition should be signed by all who wish to say 'NO' to the Scottish Government's Draft Proposal for the development of an 80-90 turbine 280 megawatt windfarm, located in the Wigtown Bay area of the Solway Firth.
On the grounds that the whole scheme, sited some 6km (4 miles) at its nearest point to the Isle of Whithorn and neighbouring communities of the Machars peninsula, will seriously impact on the area's environment, visual amenity and potential for developing and maintaining tourism in an Outstanding Conservation area with a unique Scottish history and heritage..
Furthermore that it will impact on local commercial and recreational sea fishing, with a consequent negative impact on livelihoods in an already disadvantaged local economy.

ONE OF SCOTLAND'S BEST SCENIC AREAS IS IN DANGER OF BEING LOST FOR GOOD!

There is no significant valid SCIENCE to support more that a minute man made effect on global warming. It is virtually all political hype.
